If it seems to have taken Kelly Clarkson some time to fine tune her music style, you must understand Kelly’s life was far from idyllic prior to her involvement in the show American Idol and change was the norm for Kelly

     Kelly Clarkson was the youngest of three children and was the only child to remain in her mother’s custody following a failed seventeen year marriage. Kelly and her mother moved several times while living in Texas and her mother spent long hours trying to make ends meet.

 Kelly Clarkson had no plans to pursue music until a teacher discovered her singing and encouraged her to try out for the school choir. That simple encouragement would change the course of her life beginning with the choir and ending up with an album certified five-times platinum.

Following graduation in 2000, Kelly Clarkson made her way to Hollywood seeking what became a rather elusive dream. She landed a few bit parts in film roles, but a promised music mentoring offer fell through. In four months Kelly was on her way back to Texas.

While she resettled in Burleson, Texas she took whatever jobs she could find. Kelly even took a position with a telemarketing firm for a brief period of time.

By 2002, she was encouraged by friends to try out for the inaugural season of American Idol. Her pop sensibilities connected with judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson as well as American audiences. As each week passed, Kelly’s confidence grew and her persistence and patience paid off when she became the first contestant to ever be named an American Idol.

Perhaps because of her limited experience in acting, a movie was developed quickly to capitalize on her newfound fame. Kelly completed a film called From Justin to Kelly which was panned by critics as well as movie goers when it made it to the big screen in 2003.

Her first single and album, however, garnered tremendous success. Kelly’s first single A Moment Like This debuted at number 52 and rose to the top spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart the following week. Her debut album Thankful would debut in the number one spot as the success of her America Idol experience reached epidemic proportions.

Subsequent singles from her debut project were less successful and it seemed the population at large had cooled to the novelty of American Idol Kelly Clarkson. However, this young lady learned much about resilience from her years growing up in less than ideal conditions in Texas. She willingly reinvented herself. Kelly’s second album Breakaway was a stylistic departure for Clarkson that would change the course of her career. The only problem was no one was sure what direction this new sound would take her.

During those first few weeks the sales of the new project were lackluster at best, but as singles were released from the project fans began to connect with the rock edge that was now a part of Kelly’s music. Not all critics were impressed with this move, but as five singles made their way into the top twenty it was clear that the change was connecting with her audience.

Kelly Clarkson would collect two Grammy Awards for ‘Best Female Pop Vocal Performance’ for Since U Been Gone and ‘Best Pop Vocal Album’ for Breakaway.

The current Addicted tour promises fans a taste of music from a new album planned for either late 2006 or in early 2007.

Kelly’s success has gone a long way in encouraging others to accept the opportunity to pursue their dreams in spite of the odds. Sometimes you win, sometimes you just find yourself concentrating on the wrong dream.

Kelly Clarkson will not do ‘Bitter’

The American singer-songwriter Kelly Clarkson refused to perform the latest single “bitter” at the recent American Idol charity TV special ‘Idol Gives Back’. Kelly had a clash with record label bosses who tried to compel her to perform the ‘bitter’ at the show.

Kelly maintained that the timing to perform the love-gone-bad number Never Again at the television charity show was not right. Kelly thus went against the record executives’ wishes and denied to sing her new hit.

The 24 year old Grammy Award Winner said that "To promote yourself on a charity event is beyond crass. People are starving and dying and I'm up there singing some bitter pop song. Believe me, everyone wanted me to sing it because they are jaded and have no soul. Imagine sitting in a room full of people totally against you: 'Can't they hear themselves speaking? Capitalise of AIDS? Are you kidding? Insulting an entire nation of people?' I just refused”, reports contactmusic.com.

Clarkson’s experience of Bulimia

The 24 year old well known winner of the immensely popular first season of the television series American Idol, Kelly Clarkson, has suffered from bulimia, an eating disorder or a psychological condition in which the person gets involved in binge eating which is followed by intentional purging. Kelly got afflicted from this disorder after she missed out on a role in a high school musical.

The ‘Breakaway’ singer spent 6 months with this eating disorder. She tells the forthcoming August edition of the U.S. magazine Cosmo Girl "I thought if I come back and I'm cuter and thinner... then I'll get the role. I became bulimic for the next six months. One of my guy friends caught on to it, and I just felt so ashamed and embarrassed."

However, Clarkson soon came over her bulimic problem without any outside help. She adds, "I literally went cold turkey and snapped out of it."

Kelly Clarkson is in love

Kelly Clarkson, the American singer and songwriter is in love. Wondering with whom! Well, the 25year old loves her family and friends. The newly launched song ‘Never Again’ singer, Kelly says to the Elle magazine that “I love my friends and family.” The Grammy award winning singer and original American Idol adds that “But I have never said the words ‘I love you’ to anyone in a romantic relationship. Ever.”

Kelly speaks her mind on love and says that "I am very old-school, conservative in my thinking when it comes to relationships. Love is something you work at. It doesn't come easily. There are going to be bad days. You are going to have to work at loving someone when they are being an idiot."

Kelly adds that "People think they're just going to meet the perfect guy. Don't be ridiculous."

At present Kelly is not contemplating marriage and motherhood. She says "My point of view is that I shouldn't be a mother at all, because I'd be horrible, I'm not willing to be that selfless."

It is reported that Kelly Clarkson is in great trouble nowadays. Her problems are many and diverse, yet interlinked. Firstly there is no love in her life. Her love life is in shambles and consequently Kelly feels miserable. Secondly she is burdened with stress of redoing her several songs. Probably because of he troubled romance, Kelly is not able to concentrate on her performance and do the right shot. Another problem for Kelly is her weight. Recently Kelly has gained good amounts of extra pounds which she desperately wants to shed off. Kelly believes that she should lose around 25 pounds to get back to shape. She is trying dead hard to shed some pounds before her mid-July tour kicks off and her album, ‘My December’ gets released.

According to a source “She feels pressure from her label, her handlers, and her friends to lose weight. She’s always moaning about how she can’t find a boyfriend and she blames this dry spell on her weight,” reports the bosh.com. The source also tells that “Sometimes she’s in the studio for 14 hours and the only food she eats is fast food, potato chips, and candy bars.”

Bosh.com reports that Kelly drinks a lot of soda, and hates working out. Those close to Kelly, say the real problem is her low self-esteem. “The way Kelly looks and feels now, Kelly isn’t going to let a man love her, [which is what she may need] to get off this negative merry-go-round.”

The Grammy award holder American Idol is all prepared to hit the road this summer as she decide to go on a tour from July 7, 2007 to September 28, 2007. In the tour the gorgeous diva will visit nearly 40 U.S and Canadian cities. Clarkson terms this tour as the ‘biggest’ of all her ours so far. Clarkosn’s third album is awaiting release. It will get released this summer and it is said that Clarkson will inaugurate her tour with the Live Earth concert at the Giants Stadium in the East Rutherford, New Jersey. She told MTV that “There's more 'me' on this record…I had more hold on the reins because I wrote the entire thing. Kelly Clarkson to be seen on ‘CMT Crossroads’

The lady blessed with the melodious voice that can drive one crazy, Kelly Clarkson is all prepared to be seen on ‘CMT Crossraods’ with Reba McEntire. In a month’s time after the original American Idol winner did an episode of Reba, the country’s singer’s CW series, Clarkson and McEntire are once again landing together in a venture. This time it is the CMT Crossroads, a series that pairs country’s music starts with renowned artists from other musical genres. The Reba and Kelly’s tape is decided to be prepared in the month of February 2007. This will be followed by their premier episode towards the end of this year.

It is said that during the joint performance for the CMT Crossroads, Clarkson and McEntire will “swap stories and share their common love of music”.

Kelly Clarkson reveals her wild side at the Rock Club

Everybody was amazed when the delicate American Idol winner, Kelly Clarkson revealed her wildchild side on Monday night (14th August 2006). This happened when this American beauty joined a heavy rockers Metal Skool to knock back shots of whisky onstage in Los Angeles. Kelly was dragged on the stage after she had declined to show her breasts at singer Ralph Saenz. This instigated Clarkson to glug from a bottle of liquor to prove in front of everyone that she actually knows how to rock. One of the fan told contactmusic that “she really can sing. She belted out these songs and really stunned everyone. At one point we all thought she would bare her breasts but she simply took of her vest. It was really hot watching a Miss USA-type downing whisky with a sleazy rock band. She was having a great time.”

However after the rocking concert, Clarkson has got back to work. She has been on an all-organic diet because of some of the forthcoming contracts from health drink companies. So Clarkson had a personal chef with her who had made all the healthy and nutritious stuff for her while she was on the “Addicted” tour.

Clarkson thinks it is important for her to send the right message about eating. She told All Headline News that “obviously I have a lot of young fans. I just realized that I have a platform. If you have a voice, you might as well make it a positive one”.

Recently Clarkson has signed a contract with Glasceau to sponsor flavored Vitamin Water and so the beauty is looking forward to shed quite a few pounds.

Kelly adds “totally not true! Are you kidding? That is a great publicity for me. It is like 40 million people. I am not an idiot.”
